Up to the London Marathon those wishing to get a mid week (Thursday Night) long run in can meet Ashley at London Bridge Station (outside main entrance at the bus depot) at 6.30pm for a run home through the delights of South East London.

The initial course will be circa 13 miles and we will look to increase this by one mile(or so) a week over the coming weeks.

Pace wise anyone able to run a sub 2 hour half will have no problems, Due to traffic and safety we will running around 9 minute mile pace, but overall the pace will be at the speed of the slowest runner.

Club Rules. No rest stops, fastest runner must turnaround and run to back of slowest runner, (so faster runners do more miles).

The routes will over the weeks take in Deptford, Lewisham, Catford, Bromley, Greenwich, Blackheath, The Thames Barrier, Woolwich Crossing and the South Circular!

The last long run will be approx three weeks before the marathon and when the evenings are lighter. The course will run along the first eleven miles of the marathon route (in reverse!) so that any First Timers can at least familiarize themselves with parts of the Marathon course.

Having regularly run the various routes over the past six years I have pretty much worked out every 'escape route' should you need to quit and get a train\bus back home !

Interested Parties please email me prior to the evening to confirm that you will be joining me. I will in turn try to get Kevin to update the site on a weekly basis in advance with this weeks planned route and a report on the previous weeks run.
