August 29th: Well done to Jerry Smallwood for completing the Ridgeway 85 mile challenge yesterday, an incredible achievement! Read his race report here.

August 24th: TO CAP IT ALL...
As an experiment the Club have purchased 24 flo yellow caps and if they prove popular they will become a regular stock item.
They have a high viz band round the peak of the cap, a small high viz band on the adjustable strap at the back and of course the ORR logo! The caps are £6.00 each and can be ordered in the usual way on the kit order form. |
August 18th: Congratulations to all out runners who took part in the mob match last night and helped us retain the Laces Trophy. There were some great performances including Gavin Kitchingham as 1st man home and Rachel McGuinness as 1st lady home. Full results here. A big thank you to Petts Wood Runners for hosting another great mob match.

I'm sure you'll join me in thanking Michael for the commitment and work he has put into making sure PULSE regularly hit our mailboxes full of club news. Through Michael, PULSE has become an essential source of communication in the club. Further news on the future of PULSE will be published here when we receive it.

MOB MATCH ALERT!!!
TUESDAY 17TH AUGUST Mob Match at Petts Woods. This is not just for our fast runners, it's for runners of ALL abilities. Come and help the club defend the title.
Meet at 7:50pm at Willett Recreational Ground, Petts Wood. The course will be a 7k run around the streets and woods in the Petts Wood locality of which 25% will be off road. Normal running shoes should be fine.
Afterwards, meet up at Bradley's Wine Bar (just opposite the Memorial Hall) for the results.

August 1st: WELL DONE to our two teams taking part in the Swanley Park Relays on 14th July finishing a very respectable 4th and 8th...

JULY 2010 |
July 25th: a BIG THANK YOU to Kevin Abel for looking after the website for the last couple of years.  His ultra fast results service will be a hard act to follow. Kevin wants to spend more time concentrating on his running and we wish him all the best.

July 21st: Sue of the Darrick Wood PSA and a couple of Darrick Wood Students last night presented to Orpington Road Runners Nominated charity for 2010 – the I-Care Centre - a cheque in the sum of £1,000.
The cheque was a share of the profits raised from the recent Orpington Races on 4th July which was organised jointly between Darrick Wood School PSA and Orpington Road Runners.
A huge thank you goes out to all members who assisted on the day, from moving tables between the school and the field, Marshalling around the course, time\finisher recording, keeping traffic flowing\Car parks, handing out medals and water and assisting runners with Baggage, runners between the field and school, Late Entries, the Back of House team on the Computers, the committee and everyone else who was involved yet may not have been listed here.

namely me for securing the "Silver Tongue Award", Jason Cherriman achieving
the "Best New Runner", Tonia Cooke for obtaining the "Runner Achiever
Award", Derek Laws for being our "Good Egg" and Jan Lenton for being
inducted into the "ORR Fellowship" ....
